Ignoring The “Little” Things Is Why Nothing Changes For You

Have you ever had one of those things you know you should deal with…
but you keep pushing it off?

That conversation.
That habit.
That nagging health symptom.
That thing God has been nudging you about for months… maybe years.

So instead, you stay busy.
You scroll.
You distract yourself.
You tell yourself, “I’ll deal with it later.”

But later never shows up.

And if you’re honest?

It’s not getting better, it’s getting heavier.

The biggest issue with the “I’ll deal with it later” approach is this:

Avoidance doesn’t keep things the same.
It makes them worse.

We don’t live in neutral. Ever.

You are either:
Growing
Or deteriorating

Those are the only two options.

There is no coasting in the Kingdom.

And I know avoidance feels easier in the moment.

Of course it does!

Facing uncomfortable things requires:

  • honesty

  • humility

  • courage

Avoidance just requires… nothing.

But that “nothing” is costing you everything.

Because what you avoid doesn’t disappear.

It multiplies.

That small insecurity you won’t take to God?
It grows into an identity crisis.

That ignored health issue?
It becomes a chronic illness.

That unaddressed fear?
It starts making your decisions and gets you to run away from what God called you to.

Scripture says in Song of Solomon 2:15:

“Catch the little foxes… the little foxes that ruin the vineyards.”

It’s the little things you ignore that destroy the fruit in your life.

The word for “little” in Hebrew means small, young, unimportant.

We avoid things when they aren’t “serious” yet.

God is telling us to take care of small, seemingly unimportant problems BEFORE they are serious.

Avoidance isn’t just unhelpful.

It’s dangerous.

Because while you’re avoiding it…it’s sabotaging you.

Cutting off the nutrient supply to the fruit God wants to produce in your life before it can even form.

It’s shaping your thoughts and limiting your obedience without your realizing it.

Jesus said in Luke 16:10:

“Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much…”

The uncomfortable, small things you’re avoiding?

That’s the training ground where breakthrough begins.

You don’t change your life by waiting for things to feel easier.

You change your life by deciding:

“I’m not avoiding this anymore.”

Friend, I need to say this to you plainly:

If you keep sweeping things under the rug…you’re not protecting your peace.

You’re postponing your freedom.

And the longer you wait, the heavier it gets.

But the opposite is also true.

The moment you face it, you take your power back from the enemy.

The moment you bring it into the light?

It starts losing its grip on you.

So here’s your question:

What is the ONE thing you’ve been avoiding that you know God has been asking you to face?

Not ten things.

One thing.

Now here’s your next step:

Do “something” about it today.

Not perfectly.
Not in a big extravagant way.

But intentionally.

Because growth doesn’t come from comfort.

It comes from willingness to lean into the uncomfortable.

You were not created to live stuck, numb, or circling the same struggles.

You were created to walk in freedom, clarity, and purpose.

But that path?

It runs straight through the things you’ve been avoiding.

You don’t need more time.

You need a decision.

I’m cheering you on and I'm praying for you.

In passionate purpose,

Dorothy
