Guarding Your Mind: Epstein, Nephilim, and Whatever Else...

I’m seeing a disturbing trend among Christians, and honestly, I have to guard myself against it too.

Listen, I’m open to being wrong. If, after reading this, you think differently, feel free to email me and share your thoughts. I’m open to learning. But here’s what I’m seeing…

People are getting way too caught up in things they shouldn’t.

The Nephilim agenda
What day is Jesus really coming back?
(Insert any other crazy, eye-catching headline here)

Listen, I know it’s bad out there. I really do. I find myself singing that “Come Jesus Come” song daily.

We can’t ignore what’s going on around us…

but we do need to be careful about how much of it gets into us.

Lately, the Holy Spirit keeps bringing to my mind the story in Matthew 25 about the wise and foolish virgins.

Five were prepared when the bridegroom showed up. They had enough oil in their lamps.

Five were not prepared and had to go buy oil. Because of that, they weren’t even present when the bridegroom arrived. They were locked out of the wedding feast.

That entire parable parallels those who are prepared for eternity and those who aren’t, those who will spend eternity with Christ and those who won’t.

We are the Bride of Christ. If we were truly engaged to Jesus, would we be reading more about our fiancé’s enemy than about Him?

I don’t think so.

Yes, the Bible tells us to expose the deeds of darkness. But it also tells us to guard our hearts and our minds.

And as dark as the world is right now, we must always remember:

Jesus has already defeated all of this.

I see absolutely no verses in the Bible encouraging us to consume every gritty graphic detail of what sinners are doing.

You know what I do see?

Verses like these:

“Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.”
2 Peter 3:1

“Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at His coming.”
1 Peter 1:13

“Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.”
2 Peter 3:17

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith…”
1 Peter 5:8-9

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
Philippians 4:8

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Romans 12:2

I find it interesting that many of these verses were written by Peter. If anyone understood what happens when you take your eyes off Christ, it was him.

Peter literally walked on water toward Jesus, but sank the moment he focused more on the storm than on his Savior.

The main message in The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis is the senior demon repeatedly instructing the junior demon: keep them distracted so they can’t think about Christ.

Distraction is one of the easiest states in which people can be manipulated.

The Nephilim do not need you researching them. (They probably love it when you do, though, it keeps you occupied!)

But God does need you completing the work He has assigned you to do.

He calls you to hide His Word in your heart so that you might not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11).

And spoiler alert for every evil agenda operating on earth right now:

Jesus wins.

In fact, He has already won. There are simply a few more events that must unfold before He returns to get His Bride.

That’s us.

Friend, focus on Christ.

Learning about every detail or hidden evil is not going to earn you or me a “Well done, good and faithful servant” when we stand face-to-face with God.

I’m not saying don’t be informed about what’s happening around you. I’m saying put more energy into eternity than into what’s happening here right now.

Absolutely no judgment. I have listened to a few podcasts on the Nephilim. I've read a few things about Epstein.

BUT I resist being consumed by it and going into dark rabbit holes. I'm also careful about who my sources are when I DO read up on world events.

Here are some questions to ask yourself if you’re wondering whether you need to shift how much attention you give to headlines:

How is this affecting my heart and my spirit?
Does this help me run the daily race God has set before me?
Is this bringing me closer to God or pulling me away from Him? Am I overly focused on this?

Spend some time in prayer. Surrender this to God and ask Him how much of this information He truly wants you to carry.

Don’t get distracted.

Stay in your race. Stay focused on God’s assignment for you.

It will protect your peace, your mind, your heart, and your legacy.
